The Road and Bridge Division maintains roads, bridges and other transportation assets within unincorporated Arapahoe County to provide residents with a convenient, accessible and safe transportation system. There are about 350 centerline miles of paved roads and approximately 220 miles of gravel roads to maintain within the County.

The County uses asset management and a continuous inspection program and works to achieve this mission by performing maintenance treatments at the proper time and eliminating road hazards in a timely manner.

Street Light Outages? Street Lights are maintained by your local electric utility company. Please contact Xcel Energy at www.xcelenergy.com or Intermountain Rural Electrical Association at http://irea.coop/ to report an outage.

County Road 38 Update

  • CR-38 from CR-213 and CR-205 (Middle Bijou Creek Bridge) is open to all vehicles as repairs to the bridge have been completed. Speed and weight restrictions have been lifted.

Facilities and Regions

The Road and Bridge Division is divided geographically with two facility locations. The Peoria Service Center located near Centennial Airport is responsible for maintaining roads between Sheridan Boulevard and Gun Club Road. The Eastern Service Center in Bennett serves an area from Gun Club Road east to Washington County, with approximately 540 square miles in a rural environment.
